Mother’s Day flowers FAQs
What is the official flower for Mother's Day?
Carnations and chrysanthemums! These stunning florals make for the perfect Mother’s Day gift and can be found in a number of our flower arrangements.
But who says you have to follow the crowd? Not us! Surprise mum with bright yellow sunflowers in our market bunches, everlasting flowers to show your love stands the test of time, or a neutral flower bouquet that’s classic and timeless.
Are flowers a good gift for Mother's Day?
As florists, we think all mums love to receive flowers on Mother’s Day. Afterall, what better way to say “I love and appreciate you” than with gorgeous Mother’s Day flowers that have been handpicked by you? For mums, it’s always the thought that counts – so make sure you take your time to choose a bunch that perfectly encapsulates your mum.
If you really want to pamper mum, you can pair our Mother’s Day flowers with an extra gift. This could include melt-in-your-mouth chocolates, a sweet handwritten card or incredible-smelling soy wax candles.
What do different flowers mean for Mothers Day?
Chrysanthemums: these gorgeous flowers symbolise longevity, joy and optimism. They’re also perfect for Mother’s Day bouquets and arrangements because they literally have “mum” in the name!
Roses: roses are a fabulous way to say “I love you mum”, and each colour represents something different. Pink symbolises gratitude and joy, yellow is a symbol of friendship and caring, and white roses are associated with purity and brightness.
Lisianthus: as the symbol of admiration, love and respect, lisianthus are the perfect flowers to send for Mother’s Day.
Dahlias: vibrant and colourful, dahlias symbolise elegance, creativity, dignity, enduring grace and inner strength.
