Cancer Council Fundraiser - FEBRUARY // OVARIAN CANCER

The BloomBar team have partnered with The Cancer Council.

1 Bunch of Blue Delphiniums Wrapped beautifully in our custom BloomBar paper.

Each month we will raise awareness for a different type of cancer in the hopes to raise awareness and help fund cancer research.

Proceeds from each bunch sold will go directly to the Cancer Council.

Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month (OCAM), takes place throughout the month of February in Australia. It is an important advocacy and awareness month to bring ovarian cancer into the national dialogue and broaden the country's knowledge of this poorly understood disease.

The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) is motivated to use OCAM as a platform to advocate for increased medical research funds, improved treatment outcomes for women and girls, and reduced funding inequity. We think it’s time to make some noise about this cause, and to take strong collective action alongside the wider ovarian cancer community and sector peers.

Every year, around 1,800 Australian women and a quarter of a million women around the world hear those devastating words: “You have ovarian cancer”. Most of these cases will be diagnosed in the advanced stages (3 & 4), due to vague symptoms and the lack of an early detection test for ovarian cancer. For these women in the advanced stages, there is only a 29% chance they will survive beyond five years of their diagnosis.

A habitual and non-invasive early detection test and more effective, targeted treatment options are urgently needed to save patient's lives. Raising awareness alone won’t save lives, but research will.

These will be simply gift wrapped in our custom BB paper.

*Care instructions will be included with all fresh florals.
